BBjShip 26.03
BBjShip is a BBj plugin that deploys webforJ apps to BBjServices. You build and deploy your app with the webforJ build plugin, either on the BBj machine or from another machine such as a CI server, and the app runs in BBjServices like any other app you manage in Enterprise Manager.
BBjShip replaces the webforJ install plugin described in Running with BBjServices, which is deprecated and will be removed in a future release.
BBjShip works with Maven projects through the webforj-maven-plugin. The webforJ Gradle plugin doesn't support BBjShip.
How it works
A deployment passes through three parts:
- webforJ build plugin: packages your app with its dependencies and uploads it to BBjShip
- BBjShip: installs the app in BBjServices and publishes it under
/webapp/<publish name> - BBjServices: runs the app, which you manage in Enterprise Manager like any other app
During development, the same build plugin runs your app from your project in the BBjServices of your own machine. Changes you compile reach the running app without a deploy, and the open pages update, see BBjServices in Redeployment and Live Reload.
Topics
Getting Started
Create a webforJ app that runs with BBjServices from startforJ or the Maven archetypes, run it on your local BBj and deploy it with BBjShip.
Existing Projects
Move an existing webforJ project from the webforJ install plugin to BBjShip with one OpenRewrite run, and what the migration changes in the build and the configuration.
Installing BBjShip
Install BBjShip on your own machine with the webforJ Maven plugin, or on a shared BBj server with the BBj Plugin Manager.
Deploying
Package, deploy and undeploy webforJ apps in BBjServices with the bbj-package, bbj-deploy and bbj-undeploy goals of the webforJ Maven plugin.
Command Line
The bbjship commands a BBj administrator runs on the BBj machine to manage the deployment endpoint, deployed apps, development runs and BBjServices.
Troubleshooting
